We are a 5 piece alt rock band based in Edmonton Canada. And didja guess... our name comes from a Dandy Warhol's tune :). It was introduced to us together by the one and only Rod Wolfe at one of his legendary house parties. And it kinda speaks to the on-again-off-again relationship we've had together as musicians bumping into each other over the years.
On Twitter, we're described like #Rock #Texture #Crunch #Atmosphere #Alternative #Independent
Randy McCoy – Vocals
Jim Ward – Guitar
Erik Wikman - Drums
Tophie Davies - Keys
Rod Wolfe - Bass
A Lil History
We were born in 2014 after a night of drinking with a few close friends who talked about how they missed an old band a few of us used to play in. Our EP came out in early 2015, and received airplay across the country. We also built a band space and studio that year. A highlight of 2016 was playing the Sasquatch Gathering music festival, and we're currently in pre-production for our next release.
What do we sound like?
Our music is progressive rock with pop sensibilities. Imagine Mutemath, Porcupine Tree, and the National camping out together in the middle of the city. Other influences include Muse, Tame Impala, Nothing But Thieves, Silversun Pickups, Royal Blood, and LCD Soundsystem.
If you want, you can click here and listen to us, or click here and see our videos on YouTube. Or if you would prefer to read someone else's opinion: WE USED TO BE FRIENDS play “melodic rock with hooky themes, slick and catchy. You’d swear the band have been together for years as they have really honed their sound”
